Quality of Life and Uniqueness

At Red Hen children benefit from our family atmosphere where they are able to mix with different ages especially enjoying family style mealtimes sitting at the table with adults, friends and children of all ages. We are proud of our staff team; indeed Ofsted recognised the enthusiasm of the highly skilled staff team and the support from the management team in their professional development. Our staff are qualified ranging from level 3 upto level 6, EYT and QTS. We also support apprentices who benefit from being wth our most experenced staff whilst they gain early years experience, skills and knowledge. All of our staff and Management team are first aid trained. We also have fully trained Forest School practitioners so all the children can gain maximum benefit from being outside in our many acres of nature areas. We have enhanced ratios plus supernumery staff are always present too, including the kitchen team and management team.

It is our aim to make each family’s time at Red Hen an enjoyable fulfilling experience.  We value every child's uniqueness, nurturing individuality as well as social skills with all ages. Our SEND policy ensures every child receives the support they need and we are proud of the skills that all our children take with them when they leave for school. (every year we feed into over 10 different schools so have extensive experience on this important transition.)

We are very conscious of our environmental footprint. We have planted over 1000 trees since we opened in 2004 in our nature areas. Learning and appreciating our biodiversity on the farm happens from a very early age and we aim to start a passion for life-long interest in the wonder of the natural environment. We also have PV solar panels and we are mindful to reduce the use of plastics and unnecessary waste.

What they say about Red Hen
Red Hen provides a very welcoming ‘ family’ and caring environment for children to prosper. The creativeness and excitement experiences by Jessica in Kindergarten is unique, cooking pancakes outside, drinking hot chocolate in the woods, just to name a couple of favourites! She loves going and I love sending her!
