Welcome to Red Hen Day Nursery
on the farm at Manor House Farm, Legbourne, Louth (via our entrance at The Granary on Reston Road.)
"IT IS HARD TO IMAGINE A MORE REWARDING AND INTERESTING PLACE FOR A CHILD TO BE THAN RED HEN DAY NURSERY" (Wendy Scott, for Nursery World)
"CHILDREN THRIVE IN THIS INSPIRATIONAL NURSERY" (Ofsted)
Red Hen is a wonderful day nursery on a working farm in rural Lincolnshire. We are open for children from 0-5 years and are lucky to have private access to our own extensive outdoor areas. We are happy to offer visits again, please note these are mostly outdoors and conditions apply so please phone for details. Please see our virtual tour and please phone us if you would like further information about our setting.
THE GRANARY area was set up in 2019 with funding as below. The Granary is now our entrance for the nursery so parents and visitors can talk safely to us at the Granary office. Drop-off for all children is via this entrance to their respective bubble group outdoors. Exit is via our one-way system outdoors.
Each bubble has its own dedicated staff team and base area, and all children experience our nature areas every day enjoying the awe and wonder of our fields, ponds and woodlands. All bubble groups enjoy Red Hen's award-winning home-cooked meals in their respective areas and all children still enjoy plenty of cooking and baking.
The Granary upstairs is an amazing space that overlooks our paddocks and nature area. This area is now used as our 'Nest' (baby bubble).
We are able to facillitate some parent stay-and-chat drop-ins again and hope to resume parent and baby sessions soon. Please phone us if you would be interested in joining these.
We hope you enjoy our website which offers a little taste of what we have at Red Hen. For more insights please visit and subscribe to our youtube channel for our videos: >>
